Arsenal Football Club extended their winless streak in the English Premier League (EPL) to seven, thanks to a 2-1 loss to Everton on Saturday night at Goodison Park.
The Gunners have failed to win a match in the EPL since the victory to Manchester United at Old Trafford on November 1.
In the action-packed encounter, Arsenal fell to a Rob Holding own goal and Yery Mina header in the first period. A Nicolas Pepe’s penalty was, however, not enough for the Gunners to get any point from the clash.
Mikel Arteta’s men now stay rooted in 15th place with 14 points from 14 matches, five points away from a relegation place.
Liverpool thrash Crystal Palace 7-0
Liverpool put in a stunning performance to earn their biggest win of the season against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, thanks to braces for Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
Takumi Minamino, Sadio Mane and Jordan Henderson also found the net.
The EPL champions stormed out of the blocks and took the lead on three minutes through Minamino. The Japanese international found the bottom of the net from Mane’s pass. The Senegalese international then doubled the lead on 35 minutes before Firmino ensured Liverpool went into the break with a three-goal advantage.
Jurgen Klopp’s men continued the attacking onslaught against an abject Palace with Henderson and Firmino adding to the scoreline before Salah, who came on as a substitute for Mane, added two more goals.
The Egyptian king headed in his first and scored a solo effort for the second to consign Crystal Palace to their biggest ever home defeat.
