In preparation for the forthcoming grassroots election, the council chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh and the Candidate Of the All Progressives Congress in the coming council polls, Otunba Kehinde Almoroof Oloyede with his vice, Mrs.Modupeola Badmus Aregbe on Wednesday at the local government executive chamber met with the leaders of Market Men and Women Association of Oshodi for deliberations.
In his opening remarks, the council chairman, Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh appreciated the Association for their unalloyed support and loyalty to his administration which was responsible for the smooth and cordial relationship that existed between the Association and the local government administration since inception.
The medium was used by the council chairman, Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh officially introduced the symbol of the party in the forthcoming election to the association which was well received with high enthusiasm as a dream coming to reality for them.
According to him,” Otunba Kehinde Oloyede is known to you all, as a son of the soil and a man that shared things in common with your association, taking into cognizance his antecedent and pedigree as a son of the first Iyaoloja General of Oshodi and a prominent politician that laboured hard for the development of Oshodi”
” I think in appreciation of your Association support to the local government that God has finally granted your request by making Otunba Kehinde Almoroof Oloyode, the Flagbearer of our party in the 24th of July election, while I want you to come out en mass and start your mobilization properly to make his outing on that day a huge success with another great record to be set, he said”.
In what looked like a homecoming for the candidate of the party, Otunba Kehinde oloyede, the leaders of the association eulogized the first Iya-oloja General of the Local Government, Late Alhaja Taiwo Oloyede Almoroof who they said labour hard for the growth and development of the local government and the time has come to reward her selfless sacrifices for Oshodi community through the support they will be given to his son at the polls.
Speaking on the acceptance of the party’s candidate, Alhaja(Chief) S. Ejide Adeyanju, Iya loja-General of Oshodi said the election is their project as the emergence of Otunba Kehinde Oloyede , requires total commitment and support from all her members as the candidate remains an integral part of them.
In the same vein , Mr.Odunlami Oluwole , the Baba loja of Ewenla Shopping complex pledged their support for the victory of the party at the polls.
Issues facing the Association were discussed extensively with solutions proffered, while proper mobilization and sensitization strategies are billed to hit all the markets in Oshodi.
The Market Master, Mr.Oyenkan Wisdom lauded Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh for his exceptional leadership sagacity and administrative acumen in managing the affairs of the markets and called on the association not to renege on their effective participation and ensure they deliver for the party at the polls.
Otunba Kehinde Almoroof Oloyede in his address appreciated Hon.Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh for his leadership sagacity and support provided in ensuring that such a moment takes place.
The candidate of the party,(APC) assured the association of his readiness and commitment in meeting their yearning and aspirations as an association and would work for the growth of Markets in Oshodi.
He promised the association to run all-inclusive governance with an open door policy for all with programs that will help the growth of their association.
The Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC) Hon. Saheed Animashaun during the meeting appreciated the association for their consistent commitment and support to the party.
Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyoh closing the meeting implored the association to understand that governance is a gradual process and reason why they must allow the incoming chairman to take his time to settle down properly before they start putting pressing demands on his table.
He prayed that God will make the relationship between the incoming chairman and the market association a cordial and peaceful one for the development of the local government.
