[PHOTOS]Women’s protest at NASS enters eighth day

For the eighth day, women have gathered on the National Assembly, asking that Lawmakers reverse their decision to reject five gender bills as part of the process of amending the 1999 Constitution.

Some of their main requests include particular seats in the National Assembly, indigeneship of their husband’s state after five years of marriage, and 35% affirmative action for women.

They insist that they will continue to picket the National Assembly’s gate until all of their demands are met. The women who were protesting also threatened to vote out lawmakers who voted against women during the constitutional review.
