SENATOR MICHAEL OPEYEMI BAMIDELE BAGS LEGISLATIVE ACTIVISM AWARD

Torrents of encomiums and commendations were showered on Distinguished Sen. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, Chairman, Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters on Monday, at the  Award Ceremony of the  Senate Press Corps which held at the Banquet Hall of Nicon Luxury Hotels and Suites in Abuja.

Sen. Opeyemi Bamidele who also doubles as the Chairman of the Southern Senators Forum was honoured with the prestigious award of Legislative Activism by the organizers of the august occasion.

Another distinguished awardee at the event was the President of the Senate, Sen. (Dr.) Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, Ph.D, CON., who bagged two awards, the Parliamentary Leadership for Good.Governance Award as well as the Budget Cycle Restoration Award.

While presenting the award to Sen. Bamidele on behalf of the Senate Press Corps, His Excellency,  Sen. Duoye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State, who was also one of the distinguished awardees,  noted his highly cerebral and timely contributions to discussions and debates, motions and bills of far reaching developmental dividends to the Nigerian nation as a whole.

In the Award citation,  the Senate Press Corps  acknowledged the unique passion, unmatched commitment and the wealth of experience that Sen. Bamidele has put into his legislative engagements, which invariably portrayed him as one of the most outstanding legislators in the 9th Senate.

Other awardees at memorable event include Sen. Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance, Sen. Mattew Urhoghide,  Chairman, Senate Committee on Public Accounts, Sen. Barau Jibrin,  Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation, Sen. (Dr.) Ajibola Bashiru, Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs and Sen. Sahabi Alhaji Ya’u,
