Felabration 2025: Atawewe Leads Fuji Lineup for Opening Day

All is set for Felabration 2025, and the energy is already building ahead of the grand opening on Sunday, October 13, at the New Afrika Shrine, Ikeja, Lagos, where Ambassador Sulaimon Adio Atawewe will headline the festival’s opening day with a spectacular Fuji performance.

This year’s edition, themed “SHAKARA,” promises to celebrate the bold, revolutionary spirit of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti, while showcasing a diverse blend of Afrobeat, Fuji, and contemporary African rhythms.

Atawewe, celebrated as the pioneer of Dancehall Fuji and known for his electrifying stage presence will lead other Fuji icons to deliver a night of pure energy, rhythm, and culture that bridges tradition with modern sound.

Speaking for his management company, The City Pulse and Forsure Music Entertainment Ltd, Mr. Ayo Mojoyin expressed excitement about Atawewe’s participation, describing it as “a cultural synergy between Afrobeat and Fuji that underscores Nigeria’s rich musical heritage.”

“Felabration has never just been about music; it’s about message, identity, and movement. Atawewe’s performance this year represents the voice of Fuji in the larger conversation of African music evolution,” Mojoyin said.

Felabration 2025 will run from October 13 to 19, featuring live performances, debates, street parades, fashion shows, and art exhibitions all dedicated to Fela’s enduring message of freedom, unity, and social awareness.
