The National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) has released a list of activities scheduled to take place as it prepares to host the annual NAOSNP WEEK 2025 which feature its flagship high-profile conference, NAOSNP National Security Conference and Awards, NAOSNP Workshop for Media Practitioners on security reporting, NAOSNP Walk Against Cultism, Drug Abuse, Domestic Violence and Cybercrime in collaboration with Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV Lagos), NAOSNP for Cleaner Lagos, NAOSNP Un-penned Party among others.

The NAOSNP National Security Conference has over the years become the largest media-organized security conference, gathering top public and private stakeholders in Nigeria’s security architecture.

The Association, reputed to assemble the best of Security reporters and publishers, noted via a statement signed by the Chairman of the Publicity Sub-Committee, who doubles as the Public Relations Officer of the Association, Mr. Eric Elezuo, that a host of mouthwatering events have been lined up for the security renewal of the Nigerian society.

The statement emphasized that the pot pourri of social and security based activities will be on display ranging from cleaning up exercise in selected areas of Lagos State, media workshop, Juma’at service to pray for heads of security agencies, officers and for the peace and security of the nation, Church thanksgiving services, a get-together night and not forgetting the major conference and awards where distinguished speakers, security experts and contributors have been lined up to provide insight into the much needed security networking for the nation. The conference comes with a theme; Securing and Safeguarding Nigeria’s Economic Resources: A Call to Serve.
Speaking on the 2025 NAOSNP Week activities, the National President of the Association, Mayor Oki O. Samson, noted that “this year’s conference has been expanded to accommodate much more to further boost security networking, enhance intelligence policing and enrich community relationships, thereby making it a week-long activity with high-profile government officials and head of security agencies, private security experts, captains of industries, media executives among others in attendance.

“We at NAOSNP understand the importance of security and safety, and year in and out, we have taken it upon ourselves to inform Nigerians about the happenings around them as well as measures being employed by both government and private agencies to boost policing and intelligence gathering using time tested and trusted experts across all divides.

“We will not only talk this year; we will find time to unwind with experts in the industry, clean up designated areas in our headquarters state, Lagos, conduct veritable exhibition and give thanks to God Almighty in various worship centres.

“This year NAOSNP Week’s Theme: “Securing and Safeguarding Nigeria’s Economic Resources: A Call to Serve” is in line with our zeal to ‘Build Peace and Strong Institutions’ as the United Nations SDG 16 envisions. We aim for a Nigeria where all forms of crime and violence is reduced, matters of corruption are addressed, transparency, environmental sustainability and accountability is promoted in the use of the country’s vast economic resources, the president said.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the 2025 Planning Committee, Mr. Samuel Awoyinfa, promised a wholesome activity for every participant, urging all Nigerians to come out enmasse as another opportunity to learn the rudiments of security beckons, especially when a photo exhibition to celebrate the efforts of officers across security agencies is held.

“Also, as part of activities during the NAOSNP Conference to mark The NAOSNP Week, the association will be showcasing a ‘Photo Exhibition.’ This is to celebrate the yeoman efforts of the security agencies men and women in the course of their duties to fatherland. It encompasses images spanning several decades, across all cadres of security agencies in Nigeria from pre-Independence era to the current. We call on members of the public to turn up in their numbers to give honour to those honour are due,” the chairman noted.

The 2025 NAOSNP Week-long activities are expected to hold between October 15 and 24 with the flagship National Conference and Awards taking place at the prestigious Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.
