The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Area Command, has recorded another historic revenue milestone, generating ₦28,102,000,914.61 in a single day on Tuesday, 18 August 2026—the highest daily revenue collection ever recorded by the Command.

The new record surpasses the previous single-day revenue record of ₦20.1 billion, achieved in September 2025, shortly after the assumption of office of the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba.

The latest achievement comes barely weeks after the Command recorded an unprecedented ₦323 billion in monthly revenue in July 2026, further demonstrating the sustained impact of ongoing reforms, improved compliance, enhanced trade facilitation, intelligence-driven interventions and the increasing efficiency of digital Customs processes.

Commenting on the milestone, Comptroller Oshoba said the achievement goes beyond figures and revenue records, stressing that the Service’s revenue contribution has a direct bearing on the economic wellbeing of Nigerians.

According to him, revenue generated by the Nigeria Customs Service forms part of government resources deployed to fund critical public priorities, including infrastructure, security, education, healthcare and other essential services that ultimately improve the lives of citizens.

He therefore dedicated the milestone to the Government and people of Nigeria, while commending the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, PhD, and the management team of the Service for their continued support for modernisation, automation and reforms designed to make Customs operations more efficient, transparent and business-friendly.

The Customs Area Controller also commended compliant importers, exporters, licensed Customs agents and other stakeholders for their cooperation, as well as patriotic Nigerians whose actionable intelligence has continued to support the Command’s operations.

Comptroller Oshoba emphasised that every compliant transaction contributes to national development, urging stakeholders to continue supporting legitimate trade and complying with Customs regulations.

He noted that a stronger revenue base provides government with greater capacity to respond to the needs of the people, deliver development projects and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

While celebrating the achievement, Comptroller Oshoba charged Officers and Men of the Command not to become complacent, but to regard the new record as a greater responsibility to do more.

He stressed that revenue collection must be pursued alongside trade facilitation, professionalism, transparency and respect for stakeholders. He further directed personnel to resolve legitimate disputes promptly and ensure that Customs procedures do not unnecessarily impede lawful businesses.
