President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the rescue of 21 Nigerians, including 15 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, who were abducted last week in Kogi State.

The victims, comprising eight males and 13 females, were rescued on Sunday afternoon from a kidnappers’ hideout in the forests of Ofu Local Government Area.

Tinubu said the rescue followed a coordinated Search and Rescue operation involving the military, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services and local vigilantes.

The rescued victims are currently receiving medical attention before being reunited with their families.

The President said security forces had continued their pursuit of the kidnappers and vowed that everyone responsible for the abduction, including those who aided the crime, would face the full weight of the law.

Tinubu commended the security personnel involved in the operation and assured Nigerians that his administration would continue working to ensure people can travel across the country without fear.
