2020 Batch B: NYSC Speaks On Measures For Orientation Camps
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) says there will be strict compliance with COVID-19 protocols at orientation camps.
The 2020 Batch B Stream one Orientation Course will commence nationwide November 10.
NYSC Director General, Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, said guidelines issued by the Presidential Task Force (PTF) and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) will be observed.
He spoke on Thursday at the pre-orientation workshop in Jos, Plateau State.
A statement by Adenike Adeyemi, Director of Public Relations, NYSC, quoted Ibrahim as saying since the outbreak of the virus, there has been no recorded case among staff or corps members.
The DG said in line with current realities, the forthcoming course will focus on proper induction of participants on core ideals of the youth programme.
Ibrahim added that the scheme would continue to evaluate the conduct of the orientation course and restrategise to enhance success.
“Management is committed to ensuring that no camp records outbreak of the virus. The 2020 Batch ‘A’ Stream one orientation course was suspended abruptly on March, 18, 2020 to avoid the outbreak of COVID-19 in the orientation camps”, he said
