Abia Warriors appoints ex-Super Eagles defender Ifejiagwa sporting director

Former Super Eagles defender Emeka Ifejiagwa has been appointed sporting director of Nigeria Premier League club Abia Warriors.

The Umuahia club also confirmed the appointment of Bethel Orji as assistant coach.

The announcement was made through a short message on the club’s Facebook page.

“The club chairman, John Obuh, appoints veteran ex-footballer Ifejiagwa Emeka as Sporting Director and Bethel Orji as Assistant Coach,” the statement reads.

Obuh, a former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles player, is trying to reposition the club following his appointment last week.

Abia Warriors put up a respectable performance in the NPL last season. The club missed out on a place in the Super Six playoffs, finishing fourth on the Group B table.
