Argentina vs France: It’s strikers’ dream playing with him – Ray Parlour chooses between Messi, Mbappe

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has chosen a better player between Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe ahead of Argentina’s World Cup final game against France on Sunday.

Parlour was asked who, between Messi and Mbappe, he would like to see at Arsenal and the former Premier League star went for the 35-year-old Argentina football king.

Both Paris Saint-Germain superstars have been superb at the World Cup, scoring five goals each ahead of Sunday’s showpiece.

Parlour justified his decision to pick Messi over Mbappe based on the former Barcelona superstar’s versatility and creativity on the pitch.

He told The Boot Room, “You’ve got to go with Messi – all day long. Mbappe is a different option and he can play through the middle.

“I like Messi when he’s a little bit deeper and he can drift through the lines,” he added.

According to Parlour, Messi can pop up on the left, right-hand side, adding that this has been the pattern of the Argentina captain’s game in Qatar.

“He puts it back into an area and it’s a striker’s dream playing with him.”
