Argentina vs France: Les Bleus suffer double injury blow ahead of World Cup final

France could be without Raphael Varane and Olivier Giroud when they face Argentina in the final of the 2022 World Cup on Sunday,

Both players were not part of the closed training session on Saturday.

Varane is believed to have suffered from a virus that has gone around Les Bleus’ camp but was thought to have recovered.

L’Equipe reports that Dayot Upamecano trained ahead of him on Saturday.

Marcus Thuram also came into the team in place of Olivier Giroud.

Giroud became France’s record goal scorer earlier in the tournament and scored the winner in their quarter-final win over England.

He has netted four times at the tournament so far, a tally bettered only by Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi.
