Aubameyang removed from Chelsea’s Champions League squad

Chelsea manager, Graham Potter, has removed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from his Champions League squad to free up spaces for new signings.

Eight new players arrived at Stamford Bridge this January.

That includes Enzo Fernandez, who cost the Blues a Premier League record fee of €120 million.

However, Potter could only pick three of his side’s new players to face Borussia Dortmund in the round of 16.

Of the eight new signings, Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk and Joao Felix were included in the squad as David Datro Fofana, Noni Madueke, Andrey Santos, Gabriel Slonina and Benoit Badiashile all missed out.

Aubameyang joined Chelsea on a two-year contract from Barcelona in September.

The Gabon international has scored just three goals in 18 appearances. He has not started for Chelsea since the World Cup break.
