Battle for promotion hots up as NNL second stanza resumes

The second stanza of the Nigeria National League (NNL) will resume this weekend after the mid-season break.

The second half of the campaign promises to be more intense as the clubs intensify their efforts to gain promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Madiba FC, Heartland, Rovers FC, and Ijebu United top the Southern Conference Group.

In the Northern Conference, Kebbi United, Yobe Desert Stars, Mighty Jets and Katsina United top the groups.

A number of interesting matches have been lined up for this weekend, Zamfara United host Kano Pillars, Go-Round take on Warri Wolves, while Rovers host Vandrezzer FC at the Eket Stadium Uyo.

In Lagos, Ikorodu City will host Ekiti United at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, while Abeokuta Stormers play Ekiti United at the Remo Stars Stadium.

The top teams from each group will proceed to the Super Eight playoffs to determine the four teams that will gain promotion to the NPFL.
