Bundesliga: Boniface fires double as Leverkusen beat Monchengladbach in derby

Victor Boniface scored twice as Bayer Leverkusen defeated Borussia Monchengladbach 3-0 in their Bundesliga clash.

The Nigeria international followed up on his impressive debut against RB Leipzig last weekend by opening his goal account for Xabi Alonso’s side.

Boniface gave the visitors the lead on 18 minutes nodding home after he was set by a header from Alejandro Grimaldo.

Jonathan Tah doubled Leverkusen’s advantage late in the first half.

Leverkusen put the game beyond the hosts with Boniface netting the third on 53 minutes.

The 22-year-old applied a deft finish following a delightful pass from Florian Writz.

He was replaced by Gustavo Puerta two minutes from time.
