Victor Boniface’s brilliant first goal in Bayer Leverkusen’s 5-1 rout of Darmstadt on Saturday has been adjudged the best in the Bundesliga for matchday three.
The forward repeated his double-scoring feat of last week with another classy brace against Darmstadt.
The Nigerian collected a pass following a superb counter-attacking move and dribbled past two defenders before sending the ball into the net.
Boniface scored his second of the game in the second half.
The 22-year-old has so far scored four goals and provided one assist in three league appearances for Die Werkself.
The striker joined Xabi Alonso’s side from Belgian Pro League club, Union St Gilloise this summer.
He is in Nigeria’s squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe.
