CAF Confederation Cup: Rivers United get Etoile Filante test in second round

Rivers United will face Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso in the second qualifying round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Etoile Filante booked a spot in the next stage of the competition following a 0-0 draw against Senegal’s Casa Sports Ziguinchor at the AU Stade De La Paix De Bouake on Sunday.

The Burkinabes club qualified by virtue of the away goals rule having played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Senegal.

The fixture will take place over two legs in September.

Etoile Filante will host the first leg on Saturday, September 15, while the reverse fixture will take place two weeks later in Port Harcourt.

Nigeria’s other representative in the competition, Bendel Insurance will take on 2022 winners, RS Berkane of Morocco in the second qualifying round.
