CAF Confederation Cup: Rivers United must start winning away games – Nwagua

Rivers United forward, Nyima Nwagua says the team must sort out their away form if they are to make any meaningful impact in the CAF Confederation Cup this season.

The Nigeria Premier Football League champions are yet to record a win on the road in the competition this season.

The Pride of Rivers were thrashed 3-0 by Congolese side, Diable Noirs in their last away fixture.

Stanley Eguma’s side will be up against Daring Club Motema Pembe of Congo Democratic Republic at the Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda on Sunday.

“It’s a crucial game for us because we are trying to establish ourselves in the group and everybody is working to kick start very well and then a good result here takes us to a good position in the group,” Nwagua told reporters.

“It’s a neutral ground and everybody wants to get a good result but we are going to stay focused and stick to our plan no matter where we are playing.”
