CAIDOV Hails Tayo Ayinde’s Appointment, Sets Expectations For 2027 Campaign

The Centre Against Injustice and Domestic Violence (CAIDOV) has congratulated Hon. Tayo Akinmade Ayinde on his reported appointment as Lagos State Coordinator of the Support Group Directorate of the Presidential Campaign Council.
In a statement signed by its Executive Director, Soloki Moses Olugbenga, the organisation described the appointment as “a recognition of individual competence” and a demonstration of confidence in Ayinde’s ability to mobilise people and provide strategic leadership.
CAIDOV said that it received the development “with great joy and optimism,” adding that Ayinde’s experience in Lagos State administration would be valuable in his new assignment.
According to the organisation, Ayinde’s role as Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Government has exposed him to “the planning, coordination and execution of policies” as well as stakeholder engagement and other aspects of governance.
“His deep knowledge of Lagos’ political terrain, combined with his reputation for integrity, discipline and accessibility, makes him uniquely suited for this national assignment,” the statement said.
CAIDOV said that the importance of support groups would become more pronounced as Nigeria approaches another electoral cycle, describing them as “the bridge between political leadership and the grassroots.”
It added that support groups should help communicate government policies to citizens and mobilise people “around ideas, not just personalities.”
The organisation said that it expected the Support Group Directorate in Lagos to promote issue-based campaigns focusing on security, job creation, the rule of law and citizens’ welfare.
“We believe politics must serve the people,” CAIDOV stated, urging the directorate to deepen civic education and help citizens understand their rights and responsibilities during elections.
It also called for inclusive mobilisation across Lagos State, particularly involving women, youths, persons with disabilities and community leaders.
On political conduct, CAIDOV urged the directorate to “uphold peace and due process,” stressing that political mobilisation should remain peaceful, lawful and violence-free.
The organisation further pledged its readiness to collaborate with the Support Group Directorate on programmes involving voter education, security awareness and human rights protection.
“We are confident that Hon. Ayinde will bring the same spirit of teamwork and excellence that has defined his service to Lagos State to this national assignment,” the statement said.
CAIDOV wished Ayinde wisdom and success, describing his reported appointment as an opportunity to strengthen grassroots engagement and promote issue-based political participation.
“Once again, congratulations, Mr. Coordinator,” the organisation stated.
