Chelsea boss, Graham Potter has provided the reasons for his side’s defeat to Manchester City in an EFL Cup match on Wednesday.

The Englishman, however, noted that despite their defeat and early elimination, there were a lot of positives to take home.

According to the former Brighton boss, “There was a lot to like” from the game, adding that his team created a lot of chances but were unable to find the back of the net.

“We created some big chances and attacked well. We weren’t perfect, but did a lot right in the game,” he told Sky Sports.

“It was a pleasing performance, a step forward in terms of how we want to play. I’m disappointed with the result but happy with the performance.”

Before the World Cup break, the Blues will now play high-flying Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Saturday.
