Ojodu Abiodun, Ogun State – There was drama at the Ojodu Abiodun Divisional Police Headquarters yesterday as a female suspect, Mrs. Michael Blessing Ngozika, 37, escaped from police custody just six days after her arrest over alleged involvement in a same-sex relationship.

Mrs.Michael Blessing Ngozika and her alleged partner, Miss Edith Obi, were arrested after a complaint was lodged against them for engaging in same-sex acts inside a residence at Ojodu Abiodun. According to police sources, the complainant provided pictorial evidence said to have exposed the suspects.

During interrogation, Mrs Michael Blessing Ngozika reportedly confessed that she had been involved in same-sex practices since she was 18 years old. She further claimed her parents forced her into marriage with a man she never loved.

The shocking escape of the suspects has thrown the police station into confusion, with security operatives now launching a manhunt to track them down. Authorities have declared both women wanted and appealed to members of the public to provide useful information on their whereabouts.

Police have warned that homosexual activity remains a serious criminal offense in Nigeria and that the suspects will face severe legal consequences once re-arrested.
