Ember Months: FRSC Special Marshals Unit 67 Peace House, 73 Dominion, Take Safety Campaign To Ikotun/Egbeda Motor Parks

In line with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) strategic goals of eradicating crashes on the roads to enhance safer roads and fuller lives, members of the Special Marshal Unit 67 Peace House and Unit 73 Dominion of Ikotun Unit Command on Saturday, November 9, 2024, took the message of Road Safety to Ikotun and Egbeda Motor Parks including some roads all within the Alimosho Local Government Area via a Domesticated Public Enlightenment.

The Operation which was carried out with the Regular Marshals from 9am to 12noon, was timely as it coincides with the period of the Corps Free Vehicle Safety Check Day and Ember Month Campaign for year 2024.

The exercise was supervised by the two Unit Coordinators – Unit 67 Peace House, SM Taiwo Funmibi and 73 Dominion, SM Taiwo Akindele and was witnessed by the State Public Enlightenment Officer, SM Matthew Omokaro, who represented the State Coordinator, SM (Pastor) Olusegun Akintan.

 

Motorists, both Commercials and Privates were Enlightened on the proper use of the roads and keeping safe especially during the upcoming yuletide season.

The messages were further driven home with the Educational Safety Jingles and Safety Enlightenment Flyers.

Over 300 motorists and pedestrians were enlightened during the exercise that last with several hours. They were given flyers with different safety messages.

No fewer than 100 vehicles benefitted from free tyre guaging and  Light Reflection Stickers across the locations.

Pastor Akintan, through SM Omokaro, commended the units behind the exercise, says, it was indeed a very memorable and successful programme.

 

The kind gesture was well appreciated by every participant especially the Commercial drivers and they pledged to adhere to all road safety instructions while behind the wheels.
