Embrace triumphs, trials of democracy, Dr Bukola Saraki

Former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has asked Nigerians to continue to embrace not only the triumphs but also the trials of Nigeria’s democratic journey.

He said the triumphs and trials will “strengthen the resolve and dedication for the development of Nigeria.

In a statement on Monday to mark the June 12 Democracy Day, Dr Saraki, said “we must uphold our commitment to building a Nigeria where liberty, justice and the true spirit of democracy will flourish.”

The two-time governor of Kwara State also urged Nigerians to remember the essence of the system chosen in conducting the governance of the country.

Dr Saraki asserted that “it may not always be perfect, it may not always go our way but the beauty of democracy is that every idea and inspiration can live to represent itself another day.”
