EPL: De Gea annoys me – West Ham attacker Antonio

West Ham United attacker, Michail Antonio has admitted that the superb performance of Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea frustrated his effort to score a goal for his side in their encounter last Sunday which ended in the Hammers’ 1-0 loss to the Red Devils.

De Gea pulled off four saves, including one effort from Antonio, to give his team a much-needed victory over West Ham United.

Speaking to the “Footballer’s Football” podcast, Antonio admitted that the Spaniard has over the years bettered him on the field of play.

“I think it was in lockdown and I had three opportunities against him – back stick header pulled it out, unbelievable save; Left-foot shot, edge of the box, going just inside top bins and his finger-tipped it over the bar.

The next one was five yards out. I hit just to the left of him, and he still managed to get something on it” he recalled, stating that the goalkeeper’s performance “is really annoying me.”
