EPL: Wolves speak more Portuguese than Portugal national team – Fernandes warns Man United

Bruno Fernandes has warned that Manchester United’s next Premier League opponents would be tougher than their last encounter with Nottingham Forest.

Fernandes also noted that Wolves are more united and are more bonded with language since almost all the players are Portuguese.

There are 16 Portuguese players in the Premier League and almost half of this number are at Wolves.

Wolves parade the likes of Rui Patricio, Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves, Ruben Vinagre, Pedro Neto and Bruno Jordao.

They have more footballers from Portugal than the starting XI’s of some Portuguese first division clubs.

Manchester United’s next game is against the relegation battling Wolves and Fernandes said the Red Devils must prepare to face a tough battle.

“We have to focus. It’s game by game. We know how tough the Premier League is,” Fernandes said on Tuesday after Man United’s 3-0 win over Nottingham.

“We have to go away to Wolves because we know they’re a good team. We know that they speak more Portuguese than our [Portugal] national team.

“It’s always a tough game against them there. They’ve got a new coach. We all know that whenever a coach comes in, there’s always confidence.

“They won in the last minutes [against Everton]. They’ll be on fire. But this result [victory over Nottingham Forest] can help us have more confidence.”
