FG To Cede Federal Roads In Ogun To NNPC, Others For Reconstruction

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the Federal Government is considering funding the reconstruction of some Federal roads in Ogun State with tax credit scheme.
Buhari listed the roads being considered for reconstruction under the tax credit scheme to include: the Lagos-Ota-Abeokuta expressway, Sango Otta-Idi Iroko expressway and the Sagamu-Ogijo road.
The President disclosed this during his visit to the state for the commissioning of five landmark projects undertaken by the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Buhari stated this in response to the request of Governor Dapo Abiodun for a special status for Federal government Infrastructural Funding, especially on roads, saying Ogun State has more federal roads more than any other state in the country.
Buhari specifically said the Federal Government is considering of giving approval to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) for the reconstruction of the Sagamu-Ogijo road under the tax credit scheme.
On his part, Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun said the choice of the five projects commissioned were symbolic as it cuts across all sectors of Ogun State.
He noted that his administration will keep up with its promises.
The projects commissioned by Buhari included: 42km Sagamu Interchange–Abeokuta dual carriageway which is now renamed as the President Muhammadu Buhari expressway, the 14km Ijebu-Ode – Epe expressway both Federal roads.
Other projects are King’s court estate, Prince court estate and the Gateway city gate monument.
