Five-storey building collapses in Ebonyi

The Ebonyi State Police Command confirmed the collapse of a five-story building in Abakaliki on Wednesday.

The under-construction building is located in the Presco area of Abakaliki.

Construction workers were said to have fled the building just minutes before it collapsed.

During an interview with journalists, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Chris Anyanwu, stated that “no casualty was recorded.”

According to reports, government officials were inspecting the collapsed building to ascertain what went wrong with the structure.

Residents said the building collapsed at about 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
