FRSC raises alarm in Taraba over fake recruitment LinkedIn account

The Taraba State Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, on Sunday, raised an alarm over a fake LinkedIn account circulating in the state.

The fake account in question was attempting to defraud applicants participating in the ongoing recruitment process embarked on by the commission.

In a press statement made available to journalists in Jalingo, capital of Taraba, Corps Commander Selina Williams said it has become necessary to notify the public to prevent applicants from falling into wrong hands.

She said: “FRSC recruitment process is on and there is a fake LinkedIn account operating on WhatsApp number 07069777732 and under the name Corps Marshal Dauda Biu with the intent to defraud innocent members of the public on the guise of offering them employment.”

Rather than accessing the fake account, she directed applicants to visit the verified portal of the FRSC, www.recruitment.frsc.gov.ng

Unlike the fake account that demands recruitment fees from applicants, Williams stressed that application on the commission’s website “does not attract any fee.”

She, subsequently, enjoined prospective applicants and members of the public in Taraba State to be wary of fraudsters operating fake accounts.
