Glo Fitfest 2026: Glo Staff Mark 23rd Anniversary with sports activities

  

 

Excitement and healthy competition took the centre stage on Saturday as staff of Globacom gathered at The Stable, Surulere, Lagos, to celebrate the company’s 23rd anniversary with a sporting fiesta.

Tagged “Glo Fitfest 2026”, the event brought employees together for a day of games, bonding and fun, as they took a well-deserved break to celebrate Globacom’s more than two decades of growth and impact.

Games featured at the colourful event included table tennis, Big Ludo, Big Snooker, Beer Pong, Sack Race, Big Ayo and a football competition involving various departments of the organisation. The departments were grouped into clusters, adding a strong team spirit to the friendly but competitive contests.

Decked out in colourful T-shirts specially produced for the occasion, the staff brought energy and excitement to the various competitions. Beyond the games, the event provided an opportunity for colleagues to connect, unwind, and recharge after years of contributing to the growth and success of the business.

Football emerged as the major attraction of the day, drawing intense rivalry and excitement from the competing teams. Several departments even brought in talented colleagues from outside Lagos to strengthen their squads, making the matches highly competitive as teams battled for bragging rights and the ultimate prize.

Victory eventually went to the Glo Rockets, comprising staff from the Sales Force and Value-Added Services Department. The team defeated Strikers FC, made up of employees from the Rollout, Information Systems, Gloworld Development and E-Pin departments, to claim the top spot in the football competition.

For their triumph, the Glo Strikers received a giant trophy and a cash prize of N1 million, while the runners-up went home with N750,000. Players from both teams were also presented with medals, while winners across the other sporting categories received medals and cash prizes for their impressive performances.

Beyond the competition, Glo Fitfest 2026 delivered a memorable day of laughter, music, dancing, and camaraderie, with staff making the most of every moment. The celebration not only rewarded sporting excellence but also strengthened bonds among colleagues, leaving employees with fresh energy and an even stronger sense of belonging as Globacom continues its journey into another year.
