Gov AbdulRazaq inaugurates council on MSMEs
The Kwara state Government has given its full fledge support in ensuring that Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs) strives across the state.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who was represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Mrs. Olubukola Afolabi made the disclosure while inaugurating the state’s Council on the National Policy on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMES) held at Kwara Hotel, ilorin.
The Governor said “the state will continue to partner with the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) in creating job opportunities and alleviating poverty among the teeming youths.
He urged the newly inaugurated council to work assiduously thereby contributing to the transformation agenda of the state economy .
According to him the government has provided an opportunity for the private sectors and investors with economic ideas to invest thereby setting a regulatory framework.
Speaking, the Commissioner for Enterprise, Alhaji Abdulwahab Femi Agbaje who is the chairman of the council assured the DG and all stakeholders that they will work diligently to enhance MSMEs activities in the state.
He called on the stakeholders to collaborate with the council for positive turnaround of the economy to boost productivity.
Earlier, the Director General of SMEDAN, Dr. Dikko Umaru Radda appreciated the state government for providing the enabling environment for the agency to operate seemlessly.
He stressed that the core responsibilities of the council is to provide guidelines on policies and strategies to drive the development of MSMEs subsector in the state.
The DG equally stressed that the council will resolves all cross cutting issues affecting the growth of MSMEs in the state and snergize with relevant agencies.
