Gunmen invade palace, abduct monarch during Christmas celebrations in Plateau State

The paramount ruler of Gindir in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, Charles Mato Dakat has been abducted by gunmen.

Dakat was kidnapped at his residence in the early hours of Sunday after the traditional ruler and members of the family had retired from the Christmas celebrations.

The bandits were reported to have attacked the residence amidst heavy gunfire and abducted the traditional ruler.

Police Public Relations Officer, Plateau Command, Gabriel Ubah confirmed that security agencies are already on the trail of the abductors while personnel of Operation Safe Haven have been mobilised to the area for the purpose of rescuing the abducted traditional ruler.
