Gunmen kill nine, injure others in Kaduna

Unknown gunmen have killed about nine farmers at Unguwan Danko, near Dogon Dawa village in Birnin Gwari area of Kaduna State.

DAILY POST learnt that the farmers were killed on Saturday afternoon while they were working on their farms.

According to a source, the gunmen went away with three other farmers to an unknown destination.

Yahaya Musa, member-elect, Kakangi State Constituency, also confirmed the incident, explaining that all those killed were farmers, while those that sustained gunshot injuries during the attack were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

According to him, “Yes it was confirmed to me on Sunday that nine farmers were killed by bandits at Unguwar Danko near Dogon Dawa village on Saturday afternoon and others sustained gunshot injuries.”

He explained that some of the villagers sustained injuries when they confronted the bandits.

DSP Mohammed Jalige, the state police command’s Public Relations Officer, promised to get back with details of the incident, while the state government has not reacted to the attack.
