Agege witnessed a significant political and community gathering on Friday, April 3, 2026, as the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) Campaign Center was officially commissioned, drawing a massive turnout of residents, party faithful, and community leaders organized by Hon. Moshood Alabede Olawale MAO.

The event, held at 24, Sarumi Alawo Street, also featured a community palliative support programme, where relief materials were distributed to residents, providing much-needed support to families across the constituency.

The commissioning, organised under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), highlighted growing grassroots mobilisation in Agege ahead of future political engagements. Representatives from the Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa communities were present, reflecting the diverse and united nature of the constituency.

Hon. Moshood Alabede Olawale, a leading aspirant for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat for Agege Constituency 01, played a central role at the event. Speaking to attendees, he reaffirmed his commitment to people-oriented leadership, stressing that governance must directly impact the lives of the people at the grassroots.

He noted that the campaign center would serve as a strategic hub for mobilisation, engagement, and coordination of initiatives aligned with the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, under the umbrella of APC.

Olawale also used the occasion to commend Hon. Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa (AVO), Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government and Hon. Akinola Idowu Abiodun (Dodo) the Executive Chairman of Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area for their continued efforts in driving grassroots development. He acknowledged their contributions in areas of community infrastructure, social support, and inclusive governance, describing their leadership as instrumental to the progress being witnessed across the localities.

The presence of top party members, political stakeholders, and dignitaries further underscored the importance of the event, which blended political mobilisation with direct community impact.

Many beneficiaries of the palliative distribution expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that the support would go a long way in easing current economic pressures.

Observers described the event as both politically strategic and socially impactful, as it not only strengthened the APC’s grassroots structure in Agege but also demonstrated a commitment to responsive leadership.

As the programme concluded, residents departed with relief materials and a renewed sense of inclusion, while organisers expressed optimism that the momentum generated would translate into sustained development and stronger community engagement in Agege.
