ABEOKUTA — Official health surveillance data from the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) and the Ogun State Ministry of Health indicates that Ijebu Ode Local Government Area records the highest HIV prevalence rate in Ogun State at 5.0%, significantly exceeding the overall state average of 1.6%.

Health officials attribute the elevated figures in Ijebu Ode to its status as a major economic, transport, and commercial hub, coupled with a high concentration of tertiary institution students and youth demographic. Abeokuta South and Abeokuta North follow as the second and third highest hubs at 2.7% and 2.5% respectively.
