INEC declares APC candidate winner in Ondo bye-election

Mr Mayokun Lawson-Alade was declared the winner of the bye-election in Ondo State’s Akure North-South Federal Constituency by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Lawson-Alade of the All Progressives Congress won the election with 26,379 votes, defeating Mr Olumuyiwa Adu of the Peoples Democratic Party with 24,201 votes, according to INEC.

Prof Deji Ogunseni of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA, the INEC’s Returning Officer for the election, announced the results at the commission’s state headquarters on Sunday morning.
