Insecurity: NSCDC creates more area commands, divisional offices in Kaduna

The Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kaduna State, Idris Yahaya Adah, on Tuesday, created nine additional divisional offices and three Area Commands including several outposts, across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.

The move follows incessant bandits’ attacks and increasing criminal cases in Kaduna and its environs.

He said Kaduna State now has six area commands and 31 divisional offices across the 23 local government areas while officers and men of the Corps are battle-ready to face criminals and bandits in the state.

In a statement on Tuesday by the NSCDC Public Relations Officer in the state, DSC Habeeb Badamasi, the establishment of the additional offices, area commands and outposts, followed the approval of the Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi for the Corps to get closer to the people, protect them against terrorists and criminals.

He said the presence of NSCDC officers and men in remote villages and communities across the 23 LGAs of the state would further boost residents’ confidence to go about their normal businesses without fear of being attacked by criminals.

Commandant Adah ordered the immediate redeployment of officers to the newly established offices across the state.
