LAGOS FIRE DECORATES NEWLY PROMOTED FIREFIGHTERS CHARGES THEM TO UPHOLD EXCELLENCE

 

In a significant step towards strengthening operational efficiency and recognising outstanding service, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service decorated newly promoted officers with their new ranks. The decoration ceremony, held at the Agency’s Headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja, reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to rewarding merit, enhancing personnel motivation, and building a highly professional workforce capable of delivering prompt and effective emergency response across Lagos State.

Speaking at the decoration ceremony, the Controller General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Abimbola Adeseye, congratulated the officers on their well-deserved promotions, describing the elevation as a recognition of their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to service.

She reminded the newly promoted officers that every new rank comes with greater responsibility and accountability, urging them to uphold the integrity of their offices by serving as exemplary leaders and role models to their subordinates. She further charged them to demonstrate greater commitment to duty, maintain the highest standards of discipline and professionalism, and continually improve service delivery in the discharge of their responsibilities.

 

Adeseye emphasized that the officers’ renewed dedication is vital to the successful implementation of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda, particularly the pillars of Security and Governance. She noted that the Agency remains resolute in its mandate to safeguard lives, property, and the environment through proactive preparedness, prompt, efficient, and professional emergency response, urging the officers to contribute meaningfully to making Lagos State safer and more resilient.

The decoration ceremony reflects the Lagos State Government’s continued investment in human capital development and its resolve to build a highly motivated and professional workforce capable of effectively responding to the evolving fire safety and rescue needs of the State.
