In a move that underscores its enduring commitment to grassroot security and youth empowerment, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has donated an operational vehicle to the Man O’ War Nigeria, Lagos State Command—further strengthening the synergy between formal institutions and volunteer-based security networks.
The presentation, held at the LSSTF headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja, reflects a broader strategy aimed at enhancing rapid response capabilities and sustaining
community-driven peacekeeping initiatives across Lagos State.
Representing the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of LSSTF, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, the Director of Administration, Mr. Lewis Adegbola, formally handed over the vehicle to the State Commander of Man O’ War Lagos, Engr. Lucky William Onimowo. The symbolic gesture highlighted the Fund’s recognition of the pivotal role played by structured volunteer organisations in supporting public safety and emergency response.
Speaking during the presentation, Adegbola reaffirmed LSSTF’s dedication to empowering credible, youth-focused organisations whose operations align with the state’s security architecture. He noted that groups like Man O’ War continue to demonstrate discipline, civic responsibility, and operational readiness—qualities essential for maintaining order in a rapidly growing urban environment.
Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the organisation, Engr. Onimowo expressed appreciation for the support, describing it as both timely and impactful. He emphasized that the additional mobility would significantly enhance the group’s operational efficiency in areas such as traffic management, crowd control, and emergency assistance.
The donation marks yet another milestone in LSSTF’s ongoing effort to foster strategic partnerships with voluntary and paramilitary organisations. By equipping these groups with essential resources, the Fund continues to reinforce a collaborative security framework—one that blends institutional capacity with community engagement to ensure safer neighborhoods.
As Lagos evolves into a megacity with complex security demands, initiatives like this serve as a reminder that sustainable safety is best achieved through shared responsibility, active youth participation, and continuous institutional support.
