Man cries out over suspected cultists’ attack on grand children 

 

A 87-year-old man based in Iyana-Ipaja of Lagos State, Mr Rabiu Martins has cried out to security operatives to intervene in the constant intimidation and harassment of his grand children, namely, Adetola Emmanuel Martins 23 years old, Oluwademilare Mathew Martins 15 years old and Elizabeth Tamilade Martins 12 years old by suspected members of Ogboni fraternity.

 

Mr Martins, who raised the alarm in Lagos while speaking with reporters on sunday, claimed that the suspected cults led by one Balogun Gboyega and his gang had made life miserable for his family most especially his daughter Mrs Ayisat Adebimpe Martins her husband Lolade a.k.a Makayoko and members of his family following his son inlaw refusal to join the cult group.

 

Martins said that the travail of his daughter and her family started in December 2015, when the leadership of the cult group became vacant following the mysterious death of my Son inlaw’s father Pa Ogunlade Lolade as their house in Sholanke street Akoka Yaba was invaded and put on fire sometime in December2015,I instructed my daughter my daughter Mrs Ayisat Adebimpe Martins and her husband together with their three children to relocate to my house in iyana -Ipaja for safety also around August 2020 again the cult members located their hiding place in Iyana-Ipaja and attacked the family again since then the whereabout of my daughter’ Ayisat Adebimpe Martins and that of her husband Lolade are unknown till now and all our effort to locate both husband and wife prove abortive as they left their three children behind.

He told our correspondent that the fears of the family have been heightened by renewed attack on him and that of his grand children “since 2022 my daughter whereabout remain unknown to the entire family and I was surprised when the cult members invaded my home again in Iyana-Ipaja and attacked me and my granddaughter children they inflicted wounds on their body as I’m talking to you now I can’t walk without using a walking stick please save our life as I’m too old to protect the children.

 

Our correspondent gathered that sometimes in December 2015 Mr Makayoko’s house at Sholanke street was invaded and raised down his wife Mrs Ayisat Adebimpe and her three children luckily escaped the inferno and their whereabout remained unknown effort to speak with Mr Makayoko on phone proved abortive as his telephone number was switched off.He said “i later learnt that my daughter is out of Nigeria since 2022 for fear of being killed but i did not know the exact location of my daughter” also his son inlaw Mr Makayoko whereabout is also unknown “my hope is on my grand children I don’t want them to die young”

A resident of Iyana-Ipaja extension, Anthony Okafor said,”We could not sleep Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The cult members were shooting and throwing some dangerous objects towards Mr Martin’s house ,I thought it was the noise of bangers for the Christmas celebration,but when the sound of gun is different from bangers. It was when we discovered that it was not ordinary bangers that we took cover . We were hearing sounds objects being thrown. The shouts of agony showed that some people were injured.As we later discovered that it was Mr Martins and his grand children that are being attacked
