Marrying Judy Austin wasn’t to replace you – Yul Edochie publicly apologises to first wife

Famous Nigerian actor Yul Edochie has explained that his decision to marry a second wife was not to replace his first, May Edochie.

The actor stated this on Wednesday in a public apology to his first wife for taking a second wife, Judy Austin.

Recall that the actor announced actress Judy Austin as his second wife in April and also detailed that they have a son together.

Following this, many of his followers condemned his action while some others chose to defend him, saying the actor has the right to marry more than one wife as an African man.

Reacting to her husband’s decision at the time, May distanced herself from polygamy, saying that her belief and faith did not accept it.

Yul had on different occasions taken to his social media handles to defend his decision to enter into polygamy, but he has now decided to publicly apologise to his wife, saying that he didn’t marry a second wife to replace her.

The actor, while asking for forgiveness from May in a post shared on Instagram, claimed that he has apologized to her countless times.

He wrote, ”Queen May Yul-Edochie, I acknowledge that I hurt you deeply, and I have apologized to you countless times sincerely from my heart.

”I take the blame for my actions. I agree with you that polygamy should not be forced on anyone. You never bargained for it from the beginning neither did I.

”But guess life happens. You already know the whole story. I did not do it to disrespect you, I didn’t do it to replace you, nor because I do not love you anymore. I have always loved you and always will. I’ve been a good husband and a wonderful father. I have supported all your hustle from day one; I have been an exceptional father to our children till date, making sure they lack nothing and always there for everyone.

”Out of 100, I have done 99 things right; hating me because of one thing is not the best. Nobody is perfect. I’m not. You’re not. Nobody is, except God. I assure you that nobody is trying to take your place. I have always loved you and always will.”
