NDC Primaries: Alabi Camp Debunks ‘False Claims’, Says Video Evidence, Electoral Report Confirm Victory

The Media Office of the NDC candidate for Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency I, Comrade Lukman Ibrahim Alabi, has dismissed recent publications questioning his participation and victory in the party’s May 29, 2026 primary election, describing the claims as false and misleading.

In a rejoinder issued on Monday in Lagos, the media office said video evidence and the official report of the Electoral Committee confirmed that Alabi participated in the primary and emerged victorious.

The statement alleged that the publications were part of what it described as “a persistent misinformation campaign” aimed at discrediting the candidate and creating doubts about the outcome of the party’s primary election.

According to the media office, individuals behind the publications had previously questioned Alabi’s participation in the party’s screening exercise, a claim it said was subsequently debunked.

The statement added that similar claims were now being made about his participation in the primary election.

“At an earlier time, they falsely claimed that our principal did not attend the party screening exercise—a claim that was thoroughly debunked.

“Now, the same actors have shifted their attention to the primary election, attempting to question his participation and legitimacy. This pattern of serial claims exposes what appears to be an attempt to cast doubt on the outcome of the process,” the media office said.

The office said Alabi attended and participated in the NDC Lagos State Primary Election held on May 29, 2026.

“Comrade Lukman Ibrahim Alabi attended, participated in, and completed the NDC Lagos State Primary Election held on May 29, 2026,” the statement read.

While acknowledging that the primary election was not without challenges, the media office alleged that there were incidents involving supporters of a rival aspirant during the exercise.

“Despite the challenges and incidents recorded on that day, our principal remained present and fully engaged throughout the process.

“Video footage clearly shows him at the venue, actively participating in the exercise,” the office said, adding that the footage had been made available to relevant party stakeholders.

The media office also defended Alabi’s personal disposition, describing him as a politician who prefers to focus on issues and constituency engagement.

“Comrade Alabi is known for his calm, focused and disciplined disposition. However, his quiet nature must never be mistaken for weakness or an inability to respond to falsehood.

“He will always defend the truth, uphold his integrity and protect the mandate freely given to him by party members and delegates,” the statement said.

The office added that the candidate had chosen to concentrate on his constituency and political engagements rather than engage in prolonged exchanges over the publications.

It urged NDC members, party stakeholders and residents of Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency I to disregard what it described as unverified claims questioning the outcome of the primary.

“We therefore urge the public, party stakeholders and supporters to disregard these claims.

“Our principal remains committed to service, unity and responsible leadership. No amount of propaganda or misinformation will distract him from the work ahead,” the statement said.

The media office also called on the leadership of the NDC to take appropriate action against any individual found to be deliberately spreading false information capable of creating division within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“Politics should be about ideas and service, not blackmail or the manipulation of public opinion.

“The delegates have spoken on May 29. The committee has certified the outcome. Let us move forward together,” the statement concluded.
