NLC, FCTA Workers Protest at Industrial Court, Demand Wike’s Removal

Workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), backed by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), on Monday staged a protest at the National Industrial Court in Abuja over unresolved labour disputes.

The demonstration is part of an ongoing total and indefinite strike declared by FCTA workers, following what the NLC described as persistent violations of workers’ rights by the FCTA management and political leadership.
The NLC had earlier directed its members to fully support the industrial action, insisting that the strike was justified given the failure of authorities to address long-standing grievances.

During the protest, workers carried placards with inscriptions such as “Wike must go!!”, “Abuja no be Rivers”, “Pay promotion arrears”, “Enough is Enough” and “No working tools”, reflecting their demands and dissatisfaction with the current administration.

The protesters vowed to continue the action until their concerns are adequately addressed by the authorities.
