Ondo court sentences three to death over killing of Fasoranti’s daughter

On Friday, the Ondo State High Court in Akure handed down death sentences to three individuals for the murder of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, who was the daughter of Chief Reuben Fasoranti, the leader of Afenifere.

The deceased was on her way to Lagos State when she was killed by the convicts in June of 2019 while she was travelling along the Benin-Ore-Shagamu Expressway in the Ore Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

Awalu Abubakar, Muhammed Shehu, and Adamu Adamu are the three men who have been convicted.

The judge, Williams Olamide, came to the conclusion that the three defendants were responsible for the murder, kidnapping, and robbery, and handed down a death sentence for each of them.
