Osun Assembly Gives Vital Update On 2021 Budget
The Osun State House Of Assembly has given fresh update on the 2021 appropriation bill of N109.8 billion presented on Tuesday by Governor Gboyega Oyetola to the State House of Assembly.
The State House of Assembly said the appropriation Bill 2021 has passed through second reading on the floor of the House of Assembly.
This was revealed to AMILOADED in a motion moved by the majority leader, Mr. Maruf Olanrewaju and seconded by the chief whip, Mr. Tunde Olatunji after deliberations on the policy trust of the bill by members of the house.
While speaking on the policy trust of the bill, the chairman of house on finance and appropriation, Mr. Taiwo Olodo explained that education and health sectors take larger percentage of the budget.
Olodo further explained that such indicated that the welfare of the people is taking priority.
Our correspondent gathered that other members of the house noted that if the budget is well implemented it would enhance the lives of youths and the vulnerable in the state.
They called for the speedy passage of the appropriation bill to allow the government to carry out its various developmental projects for the people of Osun state.
In his remark, the speaker of the house, Honourable Timothy Owoeye said the bill, tagged “budget of providence” would enhance the living standard of the people of the state especially after the covid-19 pandemic.
He described the 2021 budget as achievable, promising that the house would speed up process for its passage.
The speaker, has therefore, committed the appropriation bill to the committee of supply chaired by chairman house committee on finance and appropriation, Mr. Taiwo Olodo while budget defence by Ministries and Agencies will commence on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.
