OYO/OSUN AREA COMMAND REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO STRONGER COLLABORATION WITH INTERNATIONAL BREWERIES PLC

The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with key stakeholders as part of ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency and optimize revenue generation.

In furtherance of this objective, a delegation from International Breweries Plc, Ilesha, paid a courtesy visit to the Operational Headquarters of the Command on Thursday, 5 February 2026, to reinforce the existing collaborative relationship between the excise factory and the Service.

The delegation was warmly received by the Acting Customs Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller of Customs (DC) Wale Moses Adewole, who expressed profound appreciation for the visit, describing it as a clear demonstration of the company’s dedication to institutional cooperation. He acknowledged International Breweries Plc as a critical stakeholder of the Nigeria Customs Service and commended the organization for its consistent compliance with the provisions of the Nigeria Customs Service Act governing excise operations.

DC Adewole emphasized the importance of sustained synergy between the Service and excise factories, noting that such collaboration is pivotal to the effective delivery of the Service’s core mandates, particularly in the areas of trade facilitation, regulatory compliance, and revenue generation. He further solicited the company’s continued support and cooperation, similar to that enjoyed by his predecessors, and assured the delegation of the Command’s unwavering commitment to providing a conducive operational environment that promotes transparency, efficiency, and mutual growth.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Operational Manager of International Breweries Plc, Ilesha, Mr. Emmanuel Onabanjo, expressed gratitude to the Acting Customs Area Controller and the Command’s principal officers for the warm reception accorded to him and his team. He reaffirmed the factory’s commitment to maintaining a strong and productive working relationship with the Service and pledged continuous cooperation in meeting all statutory requirements.

Mr. Onabanjo also assured the Command of the company’s readiness to provide timely information and necessary assistance to officers deployed to the facility to support the effective discharge of their responsibilities.

The visit underscores the Nigeria Customs Service’s stakeholder engagement strategy aimed at fostering voluntary compliance, strengthening public-private partnerships, and promoting seamless excise administration. The Oyo/Osun Area Command remains resolute in its drive to deepen collaboration with compliant organizations in line with the Service’s overarching goal of national economic growth and development.
