OYO/OSUN AREA COMMAND STRENGTHENS INTER-AGENCY COLLABORATION WITH THE 2 DIVISION OF THE NIGERIAN ARMY AND THE EFCC

In furtherance of its commitment to deepening inter-agency collaboration for enhanced national security and improved service delivery, the Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has strengthened operational ties with the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan Zonal Directorate.
On Wednesday, 25 February 2026, the Garrison Commander of the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, Ibadan, Brigadier General Abubakar Saddiq Bugaje, paid a courtesy visit to the Operational Headquarters of the Oyo/Osun Area Command. Speaking during the visit, the Garrison Commander expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded to him and his delegation.

He reiterated that the Nigerian Army is constitutionally mandated to protect lives and property within Oyo State and stressed the importance of sustained synergy among security agencies, noting that no single agency can effectively address security challenges in isolation. Brigadier General Bugaje reaffirmed the commitment of the 2 Division to continued collaboration and operational support to the Command in tackling security threats within the state.
In his response, the Acting Customs Area Controller, Oyo/Osun Area Command, Deputy Comptroller of Customs (DC) Moses Adewole, acknowledged the critical role of the Nigerian Army in safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity and maintaining internal security. He assured the Garrison Commander that the Command values the existing cordial relationship and remains committed to strengthening cooperation for enhanced operational efficiency and national security.
Similarly, on Thursday, 26 February 2026, the Customs Area Controller, accompanied by members of the Command’s Management Team, paid a familiarization visit to the EFCC Zonal Office in Ibadan. In his remarks, DC Moses Adewole commended the Commission for its steadfast efforts in combating corruption and financial crimes across the country. He emphasized the need to sustain collaboration in the areas of joint operations, intelligence sharing, and capacity-building initiatives.
In her response, the EFCC Zonal Director, Mrs. Hauwa Garba Ringim, appreciated the visit of the Customs Area Controller and his delegation. She noted that a cordial and mutually beneficial relationship already exists between the EFCC and the Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service. Mrs. Ringim assured the Controller of the Commission’s continued support, particularly in intelligence exchange, joint enforcement operations, and other collaborative efforts aimed at strengthening compliance and accountability.
These strategic engagements underscore the unwavering commitment of the Oyo/Osun Area Command to fostering robust partnerships with sister agencies to enhance national security, promote transparency, and ensure effective service delivery in the overall interest of national development.
