Oyo/Osun Customs Command Kicks Off CGC Adeniyi Football Tournament In Ibadan

The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has officially commenced the CGC BA Adeniyi Football Tournament, aimed at fostering unity, collaboration, and physical fitness among security agencies in Oyo State.
The tournament kicked off on Friday, 1 May 2026, at the Polytechnic of Ibadan Football Field, with participation from various sister security agencies operating within the state.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs I Abdulmalik Abiodun Akintola, the sporting competition is designed to strengthen inter-agency cooperation while promoting esprit de corps and healthy living among personnel.
The opening fixture of the tournament featured a match between the Nigeria Customs Service Football Club and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Football Club.
The encounter ended in a goalless draw after both sides displayed determination and tactical discipline throughout the game.
The statement noted that the tournament, named after the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, will run from 1 May to 19 May 2026, with participating teams competing for honours in the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
The Oyo/Osun Area Command reaffirmed its commitment to programmes and initiatives that promote cooperation among security agencies and enhance the welfare and well-being of officers and personnel.
