President Buhari appoints Dr. Haruna as Rector Bida Polytechnic

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr. Baba Aliyu Haruna as the Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Bida in Niger State.

A letter signed by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu and made available to newsmen on Wednesday said the appointment takes effect from May 21 for a duration of five years.

According to the letter,” I write to convey to you the approval of Mr President, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, for your appointment as Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State.

“The terms and conditions of service including remuneration and fringe benefits shall be as approved for Rectors of Federal Polytechnics.”

Buhari then congratulated the new Rector and wished him a most successful tenure in office.

Dr. Baba Aliyu Haruna was the Director, Quality Assurance at the Polytechnic until his appointment.

He thanked the President for the appointment, promising to move the Institution higher.

” I will do everything humanly possible to lift the standard of the polytechnic to a greater height”.
