More than 500 residents of Ajegunle, one of Lagos State’s most densely populated and historically underserved communities, benefited from free healthcare services, comprehensive health education, youth mentorship, and community engagement activities during the maiden edition of the Reach 1000 Initiative organized by Queens Palm Support Initiative (QPSI).

The one-day intervention, held at Bola Ige Millennium School, Tolu Complex, Ajegunle, brought together healthcare professionals, government institutions, civil society organizations, corporate partners, and community leaders to deliver critical support services to vulnerable residents. The initiative recorded a significant impact, providing over six free healthcare services through the support of more than ten strategic partners committed to advancing community wellbeing.

Participants received a comprehensive range of healthcare services facilitated by accredited medical professionals, including general medical consultations and health assessments, malaria screening, diagnosis and treatment, blood sugar testing and diabetes awareness, comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments, as well as specialist neurosurgical consultations provided by medical experts from Dukes Neurosurgery and Specialist Hospital.

For many beneficiaries, the Reach 1000 Initiative represented a rare opportunity to access quality healthcare and professional medical advice at absolutely no cost, addressing a critical gap that continues to affect underserved communities across Nigeria.

Further strengthening the programme’s healthcare impact, Reals Pharmaceutical Limited provided and distributed antimalarial medications to beneficiaries, ensuring continuity of treatment and improved health outcomes beyond the day of the outreach.

Speaking on the significance of the initiative, Founder of Queens Palm Support InitiativeAmbassador Sabrina Ozma, said access to quality healthcare remains one of the most pressing challenges confronting underserved communities across Nigeria.

According to her, interventions such as the Reach 1000 Initiative are deliberately designed to close this gap, not only by addressing immediate healthcare needs but by empowering individuals with the knowledge, resources, and support required to live healthier, more productive, and dignified lives.

Beyond healthcare delivery, the initiative featured structured health education and awareness sessions focused on disease prevention and early symptom recognition, personal hygiene and sanitation best practices, nutrition and food safety, healthy lifestyle habits, and the importance of routine medical check-ups.

Delivered by qualified healthcare professionals, the sessions were designed to extend the impact of the outreach beyond a single day by equipping residents with practical knowledge to improve and sustain healthier lifestyles within their households and communities.

Recognizing the critical role of youth engagement in sustainable community development, the Reach 1000 Initiative also incorporated dedicated mentorship and leadership sessions for young people.

Media personality and youth advocate Blessing Lopez led engaging conversations around personal growth, confidence, and purpose-driven living, while entertainer Larry J inspired participants through discussions on resilience, positive decision-making, and the importance of becoming active contributors to societal progress.

The sessions were well attended by young people and reinforced QPSI’s belief that lasting community change must include the next generation of leaders.

The programme also attracted notable participation from government institutions and civil society organisations, highlighting the importance of multi-sector collaboration in addressing community challenges.

Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA)Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, engaged participants on safeguarding, protection against domestic and sexual violence, and the importance of building safer communities.

Representatives of the Cleen Foundation facilitated discussions on crime prevention, community security, and the role of young people in promoting civic responsibility and the rule of law, while the Crime Prevention Partnership (CPP) led discussions on community-led safety strategies and citizen participation in fostering safer neighbourhoods.

In addition to healthcare services, beneficiaries received educational materials, refreshments, and support items donated by sponsors and partners. Recreational activities coordinated by Gamesfinity also created an inclusive and vibrant atmosphere that encouraged participation, interaction, and community bonding among residents of all ages.

The success of the Reach 1000 Initiative was made possible through the support of Reals Pharmaceutical Limited, Rite Foods Limited, FMC Agency, Devon King’s (PZ Wilmar), Cleen Foundation, The Bloomy Network, Dukes Neurosurgery and Specialist Hospital, Hasam Foundation, Crime Prevention Partnership (CPP), Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), and other stakeholders committed to improving the lives of vulnerable communities.

As Queens Palm Support Initiative continues to expand its footprint across Nigeria, the organisation remains focused on delivering high-impact and evidence-informed programmes across its four core pillars of healthcare access, youth development, leadership education, and community empowerment.

The success of the inaugural Reach 1000 Initiative not only demonstrates the power of strategic multi-sector partnerships in addressing systemic community challenges but also reinforces QPSI’s vision of building healthier, safer, more resilient, and prosperous communities across Nigeria.
