Real Madrid forward to leave as contract talks fail
Real Madrid forward, Marco Asensio, is ready to leave Los Blancos next month as contract talks between him and the club fail.
Asensio is out of contract with Real Madrid at the end of the 2022/23 season.
The Spanish international is attracting major transfer interest from the Premier League, with Arsenal and Aston Villa leading the race to sign him.
The 27-year-old previously confirmed he is unsure about the next step in his career.
However, the situation has evolved in recent days as Asensio looks to work towards a resolution at Santiago Bernabeu.
According to The Athletic’s Real Madrid correspondent, Mario Cortegana, Asensio has now made the decision to bring down the curtain on his time at the Champions League holders.
Asensio has won three La Liga titles and three Champions League titles at Madrid.
